Tails and Sonic ran all the way to Tails’ workshop in the Mystic Ruins to get the Tornado 2 to fly to Angel Island.
“Winner!!” Sonic shouted hysterically, seeing it he was the first to reach his workshop. “You’re getting a lot faster, Tails!” He complimented.
“I learn from the coolest,” Tails chuckled and entered the workshop, “I’ll take the plane out of the garage, wait here.”

A few moments have passed, and Tails brought out the Tornado 2. Sonic jumped on the wing and pointed ahead, “To Angel Island!”
“Okay, here we go, Sonic!” Tails started up the engine.
“Ready when you are, Tails!”
“Alright! Get ready!” Tails took off down the runway and lifted off into the air…
“Next stop, Angel Island!”

A few minutes have passed and they arrived at Angel Island. They set foot onto the ground and started heading for the altar of emeralds.

“You know, Knuckles may be against this.” Tails thought.
“Nawww.” Sonic snickered, “He only cares about the Master Emerald. We’re just here for the Chaos Emeralds and we’re leaving.”
“Well okay. Doesn’t matter anyway, as long as Cosmo is back.”

Sonic placed his hand on Tails’ shoulder and gave him a light smile. “Just… don’t hold too much confidence in this. Alright?” Sonic sighed, “I’m not completely sure if this will even work or not. I’m just offering a chance to try.”
“Oh…” Tails sighed, “I see… Okay…”
“And if it doesn’t work, promise me you’ll still be happy.”
Tails hesitated to answer, and nodded very slowly, “I… guess…”
“If it doesn’t work, it will make you feel better knowing you’ve tried, right?”
Tails nodded, “Yeah…”

Sonic smiled and ran up to the altar to take the Chaos Emeralds. He was about to walk away with the emeralds in hand, when the Master Emerald began to flash, creating a buzzing noise. Sonic turned to see the Master Emerald and was a bit confused.
“Um……”

“Uh, Sonic… Maybe we should get Knuckles, first…”
“Nonsense.” Sonic backed away slowly from the emerald shrine eyeing the Master Emerald very carefully. As he got further away, the Master Emerald was flashing faster.

“What’s going on??” Sonic asked. He then heard a loud shout from behind him.
“Who’s on my island?!!”

Sonic and Tails both turned to the voice.
“Oh… Knuckles…”
Knuckles saw Sonic with the emeralds in his hand, “What’re you doing here?!!”
“How’d you know we were here?”
“The Master Emerald sent me a warning that the emeralds were being taken.” Knuckles explained folding his arms, “That’s what the flashing is all about.”
“Well, how the heck did you get here so fast?!!”
“It transported me here, duh!”
Tails raised his eyebrow, “It can do that?”
“Yeah, why shouldn’t it be able to?!”
Sonic and Tails both looked at each other and shrugged.

“Mind if we borrow the Chaos Emeralds?” Sonic asked, “We’ll give them back.”
“What the heck for?!” Knuckles demanded an answer.
“Knuckles, please?” Tails sighed, “Me and Sonic want to see if these emeralds can bring Cosmo’s body back from her tree…”
Knuckles folded his arms and looked down at Tails who was now standing in front of him, “I’m not sure if that will work…”
Tails kept his hands together in a begging gesture.
Knuckles dropped his arms to his sides and sighed, “Oh alright…”
Tails hugged him and cheered, “Thanks, Knuckles!”
“Heh… Yeah… Let go…”

Tails and Sonic ran off with the Chaos Emeralds to the Tornado 2 and took off.

Tails flew the Tornado 2 back into his workshop and left with Sonic to see Cosmo again.

When they got there, everybody was still there talking to Cosmo; except for Knuckles who was still on Angel Island after the transportation.
“Hello, you two!” Cosmo greeted, “It’s good to see you return.”
“We’ve got a present for you…” Tails said softly, and held the Chaos Emeralds behind his back so Cosmo didn’t see, and he approached her tree.
“Oh, Tails, you didn’t have to get anything for me.” Cosmo giggled, “What am I going to do with a gift anyway when I’m a tree?”

Tails pulled the Chaos Emeralds out from behind his back and smiled up at her swaying leaves.
“The… Chaos Emeralds…?” Cosmo was confused, “Tails… Why did you bring those?”

Tails didn’t answer and he placed each emerald around her tree so they circled her.
“If I want this to work, I need to set this up right…” Tails thought to himself.

The others watched Tails and were confused. Suddenly Knuckles showed up to support them and watch. Tails looked over at Knuckles and shrugged, “Do you think this will work, Knuckles…?”
Knuckles shrugged, “I don’t know, Tails. I’ve never heard of anything like this being done before.”

Tails backed away from Cosmo’s tree after he had the emeralds in place. He had a few tears in his eyes, hoping and praying that this would work… Sonic put his hand on Tails’ shoulder and nodded, “It’s all you, Tails. Go for it…”

“Tails, what’re you going to try and do?” Cosmo asked calmly. Tails raised his hands in front of him and began to speak to the emeralds…
“Chaos Emeralds… Hear my call…” Tails started softly and wishfully, “Please… Bring Cosmo back to her old body, so we can live a normal life together!” Tails begged, “I love her with all my heart and soul, and she has returned her love to me! Let this wish come true for the both of us!” He began to cry as he begged, “I need here back!!”

The Chaos Emeralds began to slowly hover off the ground. Everyone gasped silently and whispered back and forth to each other.
“What’s happening…?”
“Is it going to work…?”
“Will she live among us again…?”
